Crocheting

this blog

Hello! This is my crocheting blog, which I'm making as a project to show off my work and develop my web dev skillset. Here you can find a simple tutorial, description of my hobby, and a few projects. The "equipment" tab will show you supplies needed. The "start learning" tab will show you how to get started crocheting. The "my project" tab will show you an in-depth tutorial of sorts with how I made my beloved squid.

To see how I made this, follow the link to the "my project" tab or "more" above this text.

mother's day (more)

Here is the mother's day gift I gave to my mom! I made four basic coasters, using a magic loop and hdc (half double crochet). The other work is a little more creative. It's my tapestry. I used loose shell stitches, one of my favorites, to make the cool bumpy sky/cloud texture. Then, I made the moon and stars separately and sewed them on. I intentionally used different textured yarn to create visual interest. After that, I made the dangly bits and sewed it to a wire frame, which is not nearly as easy as it seems like it would be. Lastly, I attached it to the wood, which I stained, scraped, and shaped to fit the project.

AP Art Studio (more)

This is an art piece I made for my portfolio in art studio. For the crocheted part, I did a very simple rectangle of alternating fldc and bldc. For the uninitiated, that means I did double crochet stitch for all rows, but odd rows I only used the back loop and for even rows I used the front loop only.
