Did you know that cusk eels are my favorite fish right now? They aren't actually eels, as the name would suggest. Cusk eels are known for their ubiquity and hardiness in deep sea habitats (it was once known as the world's deepest fish before being overshadowed by snailfish). They were most famously documented on the Challenger Expedititon, for which Challenger Deep is named after. Cusk eels have many unique and fascinating characteristics!
